Pain Detecting Dental Glasses

Lanimo pain-detecting glasses indicate a patient’s pain level during dental procedures. Our glasses use colours to indicate the pain or comfort of the patient. We use electroencephalogram (EEG) sensors to measure the patient’s brain activity and automatically detect pain or comfort without the need for additional patient input.

HOW IT WORKS

Take Lanimo glasses out of the box that serves as a wireless charger, storage unit, and UV light disinfection chamber.

Show them to the patient and explain that Lanimo glasses serve a dual purpose. They replace traditional safety glasses, but they signal pain levels by reading patients’ brain waves through embedded electrodes.

Put the Lanimo glasses on the patient, letting the patient adjust them for comfort.

Observe the lights on the front of the glasses as you work. The patient’s pain level is displayed on the front by three lights – Green, Yellow, or Red

Red indicates that the patient is experiencing pain. Stop and adjust your procedure.

Yellow indicates that the patient is experiencing some discomfort. Proceed with caution.

Green signifies that the patient is comfortable. You may go forward with the procedure.

Lanimo Provides Solutions To:

FEAR

Many patients are fearful and stressed out at the dentist’s office because of past experiences and pre-conceived notions. Dentists are often at a disadvantage from the very beginning with patients.

COMMUNICATION

Dental patients cannot communicate their discomfort, pain level, or request changes to an approach without interrupting the dental procedure. Time is lost and the procedure takes longer.

PAIN

Lack of pain-level monitoring can be dangerous. Sudden sharp pain may lead to twitching by the patient, which can cause the procedure to go wrong and cause injuries or damage.

PERCEPTION OF SKILL

Pain is usually seen by a patient as a marker of the dentist’s skill. With a skillful dentist, comments may read, "You barely feel the needle." In contrast, incompetent or young dentists who left the patient in pain during and after the procedure were said: “not to know what they are doing.” The strategy of pain management in the process of treatment and how to reduce it affects the evaluation of the dentist.

PATIENT SATISFACTION

Patient pain level is an important indicator of patient comfort. Patient discomfort most often leads to a devaluing of the quality of service. Patient experience and satisfaction have become important components in the evaluation of the quality of healthcare. In dentistry, important drivers of patient satisfaction are good communication and a patient-centred approach in which the patient feels listened to, respected, cared for and valued.

ACCREDITATION

Patient feedback is a growing need in the validation process for accreditation of dental facilities, as it is an essential aspect of quality assurance and a strategic way of evaluating and improving health services.

A PRODUCT SOLUTION

Happy patients mean more business for dentists. Relaxed patients mean an easier work environment for dentists. Interactions are pleasant and procedures move along more quickly, allowing more patients to be seen each day.
